System for creating business models during product development

Synopsis

German companies in the mechanical-, plant engineering and related industries, such as the automotive and electrical industries, occupy a leading position in global competition. In order to maintain or expand this position, it is no longer enough to rely on a technical lead or an outstanding quality of the market performance. Rather, innovative and holistic business models are to be developed within the scope of strategic product planning.

A business model is a model representation of the logical contexts how an organization or a company generates value for customers and can secure a profit for the organization. (Gabler Wirtschaftslexikon)

Many established companies currently have a deficit to support the early stages of product creation through systematic business model development. In addition, many companies lack the experience to implement these business models, the system of integrative development of business models, product and production concepts.

Firstly, options for the design of entrepreneurial business are to be determined. It is important to consider both today’s competitive behavior, future changes in the company environment as well as specific characteristics of a considered business idea. The identified design options are documented in a variable catalog. By means of suitable creativity techniques, consistent business model alternatives are then combined. For the alternative with the greatest success potential, an implementation guide, a master plan, business plan for the realization is finally created.

#maxxelUP – Strategic positioning and business model

What?
How to differentiate your product or services from those of your competitors, as you determine the market niche that you will fill.

Why?
Positioning helps in the eyes of the buyer of your product to identify the identity and the brand.

Such as?
The positioning of companies is influenced by a number of variables, such as the motivation of the customer, the demands on the environment (stakeholder / market) and the performance of the competitors.

Discussion:
Before you position your product or service, you should answer the following strategic questions about your market and products or services:

  • Your personal vision
  • The success factors and growth drivers of the industry
  • What does the customer expect from your product and how do you exceed these requirements? (Which problem do you solve and how do the product, the service differ from the competition)
  • How will your company, the team and the available resources evolve.

Implementation:
Once you have answered these strategic questions based on your market research, you can begin to develop the business model, a positioning strategy for your business plan.

A positioning statement does not have to be long or complicated, but it must point out who your target audience is, what problem you solve for your customers, how you will reach your target customers, what they really expect when buying, how you differ from your competitors and what exactly is your unique feature, your USP (Unique Selling Proposition).

Our support does not only consider the challenges of business and start-ups in isolation, but focuses on the wider context – team, innovation, market, finance, business model, positioning, strategy, competitive opportunities, enterprise and overall environment.

Questions?
Challenges caused by the digital transformation of industry:

  • What does it mean for your company?
  • Who will win?
  • What has to be done now?

Business Starters have to go beyond their talents

Starting a business is an outstanding new experience in live.
Business starters have not only to be clever and patient, adapt quickly to new situations and challenges.

Passion Energizes Your Talent
Passion is more important than a plan. Passion creates fire. It provides fuel.

Courage Tests Your Talent
To develop and discover our talent, we need courage. The English word courage comes from the French word coeur, which means ‘heart.’ And we need to recognize that if we display courage, our hearts will be tested continually.

Teachability Expands Your Talent
Teachability is not so much about competence and mental capacity as it is about attitude. It is the desire to listen, learn, and apply.

Relationships Influence Your Talent
Surround yourself with people who add value to you and encourage you, and your talent will go in a positive direction.

Responsibility Strengthens Your Talent
Nothing adds ‘muscle’ to talent like responsibility. It lifts talent to a new level and increases its stamina.

Teamwork Multiples Your Talent
What’s the best way to handle your weaknesses? Partner with others who have strengths in those areas. If you want to do something really big, then do it as part of a team.

New York Times best-selling author John C. Maxwell shows that talent is just the starting point for a successful impact in any organization.
